The Thanksgiving homecoming game, which pitted the Cherry Hill East Cougars against the Cherry Hill West Lions, ended with a score of 14-0, in favor of West. The two teams played in the muddy field of West’s Morris Football Stadium.
During the first quarter, the East defensive line held off West consistently. Isiah Campbell (’11) had a good first quarter running the ball, but the first quarter ended with a score of 0-0.
During the second quarter, West scored a touchdown with 1:21 left, and made the extra point. The score at halftime was 7-0, West.
West’s Kyle Hughes scored a touchdown in the third quarter, with 5:18 left in the quarter, giving West a 14-0 lead. Another touchdown appeared to be scored by Mike Williams for West. However, the referee flagged the play, due to pass interference.
Terrence Owens (’10) caught three passes in a row to highlight the fourth quarter. Yet, the fourth quarter concluded with no further scores. The game concluded with a scoreof 14 – 0. West.
