Valore earns 500th win as East’s Boys’ Varsity Basketball Coach

Today the Cougars had just one mission…to win. And the cougars did so in much style. Cherry Hill East hosted Emily Fisher High School Saturday hoping to clinch Coach Valore’s 500th win. The Cougars had a demanding force over Emily Fisher High School the entire game. East was led by Seth Friedman (’10), who contributed 12 assists, and Chris Santo (’11), who had 36 points and 13 rebounds. Santo also achieved a milestone, earning his 400th season point, passing 700 points in his career.

After the win, Athletic Director Bernie O’Connor presented Coach Valore with a basketball acknowledging his 500th win. Then O’Connor introduced him to the crowd. Coach Valore made a short speech and struggled to hold back his emotion.

Not too long after, Logan Marro (’09) presented Coach Valore with a watch that was a gift from the players. The watch will be embroided later with his impressive accomplishment.

Enjoyed the article about Coach Valore’s 500th win. Congratulations, Coach!
However, I want to call attention to an error regarding the point reference to Chris Santo. Santo scored his 700th career point and went over the 400 point mark for this season in that game.
I hope you will print a correction.
    Thank you.
