East In Action holds first popcorn sale

Deviating from the typical after school pretzel and baked good sales, East in Action (EIA), a community service club, held its first popcorn sale after school on Monday, November 15.

“It’s a different idea and it’s creative,” said Shayna Golkow (’10), a member of the club.

The club sold the popcorn, which was donated by the Brown Family Shop Rites, for 50 cents a cup with all proceeds benefiting the Legislative Breakfast for the Mental Health Association of Southwestern, NJ.

Jessie Cohen (’11), a member of EIA, said, “I think we need a few more people to buy the popcorn for us to want to do this again, but so far I think we’re doing well.”

With a steady stream of students approaching the sales table outside of the auditorium, the club members were hopeful that the sales would continue to go well so that they could continue the popcorn sale throughout the year.
