The expectations were high for his new EP after the success of his debut EP, TRXYE. WILD starts off with the title track song that has a mellow pop vibe with a good beat to it. The song BITE sounds like a creepy lullaby due to its deep beats, and dark lyrics including “The rapture in the dark puts me at ease, the blind eye of the storm.”

The EP continues on with a collaboration with New Zealand’s Broods in the song EASE. EASE has a calming effect and makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. Troye writes about failures in relationships in the songs FOOLS. FOOLS starts off with a slow piano intro, but continues on into a more upbeat tone. Troye’s song THE QUIET has varying sounds throughout it, making it the most engaging song on the album.

WILD ends with a collaboration with the Australian rapper Tkay Maidza in DKLA, including powerful lyrics such as “Distance makes the heart grow fonder said by someone stronger than me.” Troye’s EP shows originality and is different compared to popular songs today. The range of different tones and beats in his songs makes it interesting and entertaining to listen to. While it is only six tracks long, it has new sounds and is refreshing to hear. Pop stars Taylor Swift and Sam Smith posted on social media how they felt that it was an amazing EP.
