Rising back up from the top after a four year break, Adele released her new album 25 on November 20, 2015. The album smashed the scales with a record breaking 3.38 million sales in only three weeks according to Time Magazine, with the number one single being “Hello,” which has been a constant on the iTunes Top 10.

25 reveals some of Adele’s most intimate tunes including “Million Years Ago” and “All I Ask.” “All I Ask” express emotions about being loved and having a lover for the rest of your life in and wanting a serious committed relationship. The song also questions if the relationship will just stay platonic or turning into a marriage, “All I ask is/If this is my last night with you/Hold me like I’m more than just a friend/Give me a memory I can use” are some of the more powerful lyrics in the stunning melody.

Adele also experiments with some new melodies in her music with the song “Send my Love [To your new Lover)” is a classic Adele love song, but with new beats as it is more of a fast pop song. The new pop icon has a catchy upbeat rhythm and is perfect to work out to or have a solo dance party at 2 am. “We’ve gotta let go of all of our ghosts/We both know we ain’t kids no more” are some of the catchy lyrics in the feel-good song.

While majority of Adele’s songs are romance based and very catchy and heartfelt. Some songs off of the album did not match up to par with the rest of the album. “Remedy” and “I Miss You” are some of the weaker songs on the album with no significant impact on the album as well as no surprising and new meaning. Those two songs just seem to get lost with the hustle and bustle of the positive songs of the album. “Remedy” has a very dark undertone and could indicate a messy relationship. “When the pain cuts deep/And prevents you from sleeping” are some lyrics in the song that basically can indicate either Adele has been in an either abusive or messy relationship. The meaning of the song is very hazy and difficult to interpret.

With “Hello” being her chart smashing single off of the album, it is a fabulous and catchy song that really makes the album stand out. Although the song has been on replay constantly from the radio stations, it certainly does not feel overplayed due to the shock of the difference of her songs and very pop vibe the album and song gives. Adele certainly welcomed listeners to the other side in her 25 release.
