Share a kiss at the Kissing Bridge

On this upcoming Valentine’s Day, share a kiss with your sweetheart under the Scarborough Covered Bridge in honor of the 50th anniversary of the “Kissing Bridge.”

Beginning at 11:30 a.m., rain or shine, the Scarborough Covered Bridge is offering a day-long celebration reenacting the 1959 mass Valentine kissing scene. According to the Cherry Hill Township website, the bridge, linking two sections of Barclay Farms, was previously used as a hideout devised to give couples a place to “sneak a kiss.” The bridge was officially opened when, just fifty years prior to Saturday, dozens of couples crowded on the bridge for a host of Valentine’s Day kissing.

In addition to refreshments supplied by Starbuck’s Coffee and Manhattan Bagel, attendees will receive a coupon for 10 percent off of several Barclay Farms’ restaurants including: Manhattan Bagel, Mirabella Cafe, Cherry Hill Pizza and Norma’s Mediterranean Cuisine.
