A new, fast, and unique dining option, Mod Pizza, comes to South Jersey. The Seattle-based company, Mod Pizza, has took the nation by storm with locations all over the country including up and down the West Coast, Idaho, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

Located in the Marlton Square shopping center, the restaurant is the first of Mod’s rapid growing chain to hit New Jersey.

Mod Pizza is a unique dining option as it offers a “Chipotle” style, quick service counter order, as the customers tells the server what they want on their pizza or salad. The restaurant even offers gluten free options. Additionally, the restaurant offers house-made iced teas and lemonades.

When first visiting Mod, I was overly impressed by the emphasis the restaurant has on the customization options. Although the restaurant has on its menu a few made up pizza and salad options to order, the servers encourage the customers to customize their own pizza or salad to their liking. The restaurant even gives the customer the choice to put their customized salad on a warm asiago pizza crust; thus resulting in a trademark Mod Pizza Salad.

The multitude of pizza and salad toppings allow for a different experience every time a customer walks into the restaurant. There are endless combinations for the customer to create.

When you go to Mod, make sure to save room for dessert. The restaurant’s menu includes a variety of different milkshakes. The customer can choose from chocolate, vanilla or strawberry.  And of course, the restaurant would be more than happy to customize the Modshake to the customer’s liking with mix-ins such as Cappuccino Crunch, Mint Chocolate Chip or Cookie Dough.

A major highlight of the restaurant is how fast and convenient the service is.  With 800 degree pizza ovens, the customer’s handmade pizza is ready in less than three minutes. I was overly impressed by the quality of my pizza that was made in just under five minutes from when I walked in. The restaurant was a great change up from the typical pizza shops in town that simply warm up the pizza after it has been sitting on the countertop.

Although the restaurant is well esteemed for its quick service, there is plenty of tables to sit and enjoy a meal with family or friends.

Pizza, salad and milkshakes all at a reasonable price. What’s not to like about that? Pick a day, and bring a few friends, as there is plenty of room and space to comfortably dine and enjoy a meal at the new Mod Pizza in Marlton.
