Junior prom proven to be great (Gatsby)

Junior prom may have taken place last night, Friday, April 28, yet, the room was transformed into F. Scott Fitzgerald’s version of the 1920s.

Feathers and pearls adorned the tables, acting as centerpieces reminiscent of the iconic parties thrown in “The Great Gatsby.”

“The juniors all had read the book recently, so that was where the inspiration came from,” said Mrs. Susan Melograna, one of the advisors for the Student Government Association Class of 2019.

Prom took place at Auletto Caterers in Deptford Township where students and teachers alike could enjoy the ambience that the waterfront view provided.

“We are out here on the lake, there’s lights, and there are Gatsbys,” said Saurabh Shah (‘19), the SGA Class President for the Class of 2019.

It was a night filled with dancing, laughter and a buffet that did not seem to end. Attendees were able to enjoy dinner as soon as they walked into the hall, and ended the night with homemade sundaes along with other desserts.

“I just wanted everyone to have a lot of fun and enjoy themselves and I think it happened,” said Shah.

It’s exciting to see how the juniors will top this for their senior prom.
