On Monday, November 16, 2009, East student Max Rubin (’10) signed a National Letter of Intent to play college tennis at Division I Duquesne University on an athletic scholarship. He chose Duquesne over schools such as Hofstra University and Quinnipiac University, mainly because he fell in love with Duquesne’s campus and tennis coach, Rob Castille.
“I just felt I fit in with the tennis team [at Duquesne] perfectly. [Castille] really sold the program well and they are heading in the right direction,” said Rubin.
According to www.tennisrecruiting.com, Rubin is a 4 star out of 5 star recruit. He is also ranked 3 in New Jersey and 190 in the country for singles tennis.
