Boys Cross Country Dominates Batch Meet

Kevin Cook ('11)/ Eastside Art Director

The boy’s Cross Country race today was practically a sweep. Josh Elkan (’11) took first place overall, with a great time of 16:54. In addition, Zach Iannarelli (’12) took second with an equally impressive time of 16:55, only about a second behind Josh. East’s outstanding winning score was 18, which is the combined total of the top 5 runners. Every member of the varsity team (listed below) placed within the top 11 places.

The Results:

1st Josh Elkan (’11) – 16:54

2nd Zach Iannarelli (’12) – 16:55

4th Scott Zhao (’11) – 17:21

5th DJ Rodriguez (’12) – 17:21

6th Damon Glatz (’11) – 17:26

8th Steve Omari (’11) – 17:28

11th Andrew Berger (’11) – 17:38

Junior varsity also had an outstanding day today, but official scores and times have not yet been given. However, the top 2 racers, both East students, were Ricky Zhao (’12) and Russell Beatty (’12).

If the rest of the races this year go as well as today’s, it’ll be a good year for the boy’s Cross Country team.
