East soccer defeats Cumberland

Today, East boys varsity soccer team went head to head against Cumberland High School. East started off the game in the right way with the first goal by #2, Brian Thompson (’10) at the end of the first half. The first half also included many shots on goals by seniors Francis Schmutz (’10) and Ben Gerstein (’10).

The second half begun with a terrific assist from Gerstein and another goal by Thompson. The game ended with over 15 shots on goal by both teams.

With college scouts on the sidelines, memorable moments of the game were goalkeeper Mike Randall’s (’10) save on penalty kick and a great pass by Justin Henderson (’10). The final score was 2-0, East.
