Eagles upset in loss to Raiders

On Sunday the Eagles lost to the Oakland Raiders 9 to 13. Zach Miller, Oakland tight end, caught an  86-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. JaMarcus Russell, Oakland quarterback, set his season high in completions and passing yard with 17 completions and 224 passing yards. The Eagles on the other hand played poorly on offense. Out of 16 third-down opportunities, the Eagles only converted two, and Donovan McNabb was sacked six times.

The outcome of the game was unexpected because the Raiders had 1 win and 4 loses before this game. Going into the game the Eagles had won three games by at least 20 points on the season and had  3 wins and 1 loss.  Going into this game they were second in the league in points per game. Michael Vick had one carry for negative 4 yards. Brian Westbrook had an average game with 50 yards and the rest of the Eagles combined had only 17 yards rushing.  During this game, Eagles defensive end Victor Abiamiri and left tackle Jason Peters got injured and did not return.
