Eagles defeat Bucaneers

Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb came back from a broken rib injury, and in just two plays he showed that his injury has healed, and was fine to play on Sunday in week 5 against Tampa Bay. On the Eagles’ first offensive play Donovan McNabb rushed for 13 yards. On the second play McNabb threw a 51 yard pass for a touchdown to Jeremy Maclin. McNabb threw for 264 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Maclin is a key rookie for the Eagles  this year. Maclin is the third different player in three games to have 100 yards receiving for the Eagles. He had six catches and two touchdowns for 142 yards. “With the talented group of guys we have, big games are going to rotate between different guys,” Maclin said. “I expect to make plays.” The Eagles scored at least 33 points in each of their three wins this season.

The Eagles defense played exceptionally well this game against the Buccaneers, although they had 10 penalties throughout the game, giving Tampa Bay 111 yards. The Eagles defense also had 3 interceptions.  Eagles cornerback Asante Samuel had two of them. This game was the return of middle linebacker Jeremiah  Trotter to Philadelphia. He is a four-time Pro Bowl pick. Eagles coach Andy Reid became the 34th coach to win 100 regular-season games. The Eagles won another game easily, leaving the score 33 Eagles, 14 Tampa Bay.
