Cougars sweep season series versus Chiefs

The Cougars won their 14th straight game today by defeating Cherokee with a final score of 64 to 48. The game was pretty uneventful, with the Cougars taking an early lead and maintaining it until the very end. Perhaps the most exciting part was that Chris Santo (‘11) celebrated his 18th birthday as he lead the team with 26 points. Other high scorers included Marc Schlessel (’12) with 19 points, and Jake Gurkin (’12) with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Student spectators noted the Countrymen had a larger attendance than at previous games, although they neglected to lead a single cheer. Santo fouled out with just under two minutes left, but the team finished strong with a 16 point lead and were congratulated by a standing ovation from the crowd.
