Yesterday, East’s tennis team hosted Lenape High School in an Olympic-American Conference match-up. In the match, Lenape outplayed East and ended up winning the match 3-2. East’s two wins in the match came from East’s first and second doubles teams, made up of Alex Feldman (’11)/Justin Elfman (’10) and Andrew Wynne (’10)/Sebastian Gonzalez (’12) respectively.
East’s singles players did not fare nearly as well. At third singles, Mike Davis (’10) lost as did second singles player Nikhil Yegya- Raman (’10). First singles player, Max Rubin (’10), lost his first set to Lenape’s first singles player 6-3, and then rebounded in the second set by taking a 6-5 lead. However, Rubin was forced to forfeit his match midway into the 12th game of the second set because of cramps.
With the loss, the Cougars are now 8-2 on the season. Both of East’s losses have come at the hands of Lenape.
