Simunek played a pivotal role in the team’s first and second round playoff wins. In East’s first round match against Tom’s River South Feb 13, Simunek was on two winning relay teams and won two individual events in the 100 freestyle and 100 breaststroke. East beat Tom’s River South 122-48. In their second round playoff match versus Cherokee on Feb 16, Simunek helped two more relay teams win, and won the 200 freestyle individually. The Cougars won this race 108-62. This friday, Feb 20, the Cougars will be taking on West Windsor Plainsboro South High School for the Public, Central A Sectional Championship.
