SGA and the Latinos and Amigos club bring holiday cheer to those in need with a toy drive.

This year, SGA and Latinos and Amigos planned a toy drive during the holidays. The toy drive started on December 7th and it ended on December 18th. The toys are being collected in the Communications vestibule area at Cherry Hill East. Toys are being collected for first graders up to sixth graders and are being donated to the Loida Center of Developmental Learning.

Daniel Pipersburgh, the student body president, said “We are accepting school items, such as doll houses. However, we are not accepting inappropriate school items such as nerf guns.” Ariana Santiago-Ramos, the president of Latinos and Amigos helped coordinate the toy drive as well. They wanted the toys to be delivered for 3 Kings Day, January 6, 2021.

Ultimately, the toy drive was a success. SGA and Latinos and Amigos are going to continue working together on the toy drive in upcoming years. There were over one hundred toys successfully donated.
