Obama supporters show their gear

Recently, with the presidential election under way, celebrities and publicists have been showing their Obama support in stylish apparel. A-listers like Kim Kardashian, George Clooney, and Beyonce Knowles have shown their views publicly to gain more exposure for Obama.

In an interview with Kate Snow of Good Morning America, George Clooney said “, I think Obama would be a good president in 2010, 2012 and 2014. I think he’s the most charismatic person I’ve been in a room with in a long time. In January 2008 Clooney was seen at the United Nations Headquarters wearing an Obama bracelet.

Tees with slogans such as, “Obama is My Homeboy” and “Girls for Obama,” are becoming very common among celebrities and designers are joining the support. On September 9, designers Vera Wang, Alexander McQueen, Nanette Lepore and 22 others contributed Obama designer handbags and clothing to a fashion show raising money for the campaign

One Obama supporter, who will definitely give him an upper hand in the election, is Oprah Winfrey. In an interview with Larry King, King questioned why Winfrey has announced that she is an Obama supporter (Winfrey is known for not publicizing who she supports).

Winfrey responded, “Because I know him personally [and] I think that what he stands for, what he has proven that he can stand for, what he has shown was worth me going out on a limb for – and I haven’t done it in the past because I haven’t felt that anybody, I didn’t know anybody well enough to be able to say, I believe in this person.”

The upcoming election is one of the most controversial in American history. With McCain and Obama there is no telling what will happen next. But we do know one thing. Whoever wins the election will create history (whether with the first African American president or the first woman Vice President). And if Oba ma does not win at least celebrities will still have fashionable Obama gear.
